CINTECX reopened its doors to hundreds of students in April

Students from five educational centers in Vigo, Tui and Rianxo took part in these visits

The month of April once again filled the laboratories of the Research Center for Technologies, Energy and Industrial Processes (CINTECX) at the University of Vigo with life. Over several Open Days, the center welcomed hundreds of high‑school students who visited its facilities to discover what the daily work of researchers is like.

Students from five educational centers in Vigo, Tui and Rianxo took part in these visits, which allowed them to explore the spaces where the center’s scientific activity takes place and to learn first‑hand about some of its research lines. For many of these young people, it was their first direct contact with a university research environment.

During the visits, CINTECX research staff explained their work in an accessible and engaging way, answering questions and sharing experiences about their professional careers. In addition, the groups were able to participate in small activities and practical demonstrations that helped them better understand how scientific research translates into technological advances applicable to everyday life.

Nearly twenty activities open to the educational community

These Open Days were part of an especially active month for scientific outreach at CINTECX. Throughout April, the center carried out nearly twenty outreach actions, including visits to secondary schools across Galicia, participation in science fairs, and hosting school groups in its own facilities, reaching more than six hundred people.

An opportunity for students to learn first‑hand how research is conducted and to spark curiosity for science and technology in a welcoming and participatory environment.
