CINTECX will once again participate in the European Researchers’ Night with several science outreach activities. Organised by UVigo, the event will take place on Friday, 25 September, at Edificio Redeiras and Praza do Berbés in Vigo.

CINTECX researchers will bring science closer to the public through a variety of experiences and demonstrations:

🔬 What Colour Tells Us

Discover how chemistry can transform colour! Through different experiments, participants will be able to observe colour changes caused by chemical reactions and learn how to detect substances that are invisible to the naked eye.

🛣️ Infrastructure Detectives

Get ready to explore the present and future of advanced road risk detection using state-of-the-art automated techniques. From remote sensing and artificial intelligence to BIM methodologies and the integration of non-destructive testing techniques. The results of the OVERSIGHT and RADAR-EYE projects will also be presented.

⚡ Light Without Wires? The Magic of Plasma

Discover the invisible power of plasma. A plasma ball can light up a fluorescent tube in the air, without wires or physical contact. A surprising experience to learn about the fourth state of matter and its electric field.

🔥 From Fire to Energy

What does a flame need to burn? At this stand, participants will learn about the fire triangle in a practical way and how its three elements determine whether a flame continues to burn or goes out. To finish, everything learned will be put to the test with a spectacular confined-flame experiment.

🌡️ Infrared Thermography: Can We See Heat?

An interactive activity to discover the impact and applications of thermography, particularly in the field of energy efficiency. Using a thermal imaging camera, participants will be able to visualise the infrared radiation emitted by objects.
