CINTECX and AIMEN Technology Centre continue their commitment to highlighting female role models in science and technology through the travelling exhibition “Women Researchers CINTECX–AIMEN”, which will be on display at the School of Mining and Energy Engineering (eME UVigo) from 17 to 23 March, coinciding with the events commemorating International Women’s Day.

The exhibition was officially presented on 17 March, during the Mulle.RME 2026 Awards ceremony, a competition that recognises creative initiatives committed to gender equality. The awards were presented by María Pazo, CINTECX researcher and equality liaison at the School of Mining and Energy Engineering, who emphasised the importance of promoting spaces that give visibility to female talent in the scientific‑technological field.

In this edition, the 1st prize, endowed with €300 and a diploma, was awarded to the piece “A muller na industria Offshore I” by Philip Walter Swenson and Andrea Vidal Rivera. The 2nd prize, with €150 and a diploma, went to “Camiños por picar”, by Brian Rodríguez Torres, a student at the School.

During the event, Mariola Norte, equality liaison and communications officer at CINTECX, introduced the exhibition and gave the floor to two of its featured researchers, who shared their personal testimonies. Raquel Pérez Orozco and Amanda Franco Sardinha spoke about their careers in the scientific‑technological field and reflected on the challenges that women in research still face.

Franco captured the spirit of the initiative with a clear message: “We are breaking stigmas,” highlighting the importance of visible role models that encourage more young women to pursue STEM careers.

The exhibition is installed in the main lobby of the School of Mining and Energy Engineering, where it will remain open to visitors throughout the week. It is also available in digital format on the CINTECX and AIMEN websites, further expanding its reach and facilitating access for the entire university community.
