O meu traballo de investigaci\u00f3n comezou no campo da produci\u00f3n de encimas a partir de diferentes tipos de microorganismos, tema sobre o que versou a mi\u00f1a tese doutoral. A continuaci\u00f3n, comecei a traballar no dese\u00f1o de novos disolventes m\u00e1is sostibles para a s\u00faa aplicaci\u00f3n na extracci\u00f3n de biocatalizadores e na remediaci\u00f3n de efluentes contaminados. Este traballo foi financiado por unha trintena de proxectos de fondos p\u00fablicos e privados (nacionais e internacionais) e os resultados obtidos deron lugar \u00e1 publicaci\u00f3n de case un centenar de artigos en revistas indexadas e seis cap\u00edtulos de libro e present\u00e1ronse m\u00e1is de 100 comunicaci\u00f3ns a congresos (en forma de p\u00f3ster, relatorios orais, convidadas e plenarias). Ademais, realicei m\u00e1is de tres anos de estancias internacionais en centros como a Universidade T\u00e9cnica de Hamburgo (Alema\u00f1a), o Instituto de Tecnolox\u00eda Qu\u00edmica e Biol\u00f3xica de Oeiras (Portugal) e o Instituto Tecnol\u00f3xico de Sonora (M\u00e9xico). Doutra banda, estiven involucrado na direcci\u00f3n de diferentes traballos de investigaci\u00f3n a nivel de grao, m\u00e1ster e predoctoral. Por \u00faltimo, hei de destacar a mi\u00f1a participaci\u00f3n en comit\u00e9s editoriais de revistas como Journal of Chemistry ou en paneis de avaliaci\u00f3n de diversas axencias a nivel nacional e
