The\u00a0Research Center for Technologies, Energy and Industrial Processes (CINTECX)\u00a0at the University of Vigo is strengthening its commitment to knowledge transfer to the Galician business sector through two industrial PhD programs that bridge academia and industry. Researchers\u00a0Camila Rey\u00a0and\u00a0Nerea Airado\u00a0are developing their doctoral theses in collaboration with leading companies, within the framework of the grant program promoted by the Xunta de Galicia.<\/p>\n
Camila Rey\u00a0has been selected to carry out her thesis at\u00a0BIOPRANAWORLD SL, under the supervision of CINTECX BIOSUV group researchers\u00a0\u00c1ngeles Sanrom\u00e1n Braga\u00a0and\u00a0Marta Pazos Curr\u00e1s. Her project, titled\u00a0\u201cOptimization of Bioprana Activator Efficiency in Bioremediation Processes with a Focus on Sustainability and Circularity (ACTBIO)\u201d<\/em>, falls within the field of biotechnology and aims to provide sustainable solutions for improving environmental processes. This PhD modality allows Rey to gain first-hand insight into the needs of the business sector and directly apply her scientific knowledge.<\/p>\n Meanwhile,\u00a0Nerea Airado\u00a0is conducting her thesis at\u00a0BorgWarner, focusing on the design of predictive models for the electromagnetic behavior of power electronic systems. Supervised by\u00a0\u00d3scar L\u00f3pez S\u00e1nchez, a researcher from CINTECX\u2019s APET group, and\u00a0M\u00f3nica Fern\u00e1ndez Barciela\u00a0from atlanTTic, her research aims to reduce electromagnetic interference and improve the efficiency of these systems. Airado highlights that the industrial PhD allows her to access advanced technical resources and acquire key skills such as project management and interdisciplinary collaboration.<\/p>\n Both theses are part of the public grant program promoted by the\u00a0Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN), which has supported 20 projects at the University of Vigo since 2021, consolidating this model as a strategic path for training highly qualified researchers and fostering business innovation.<\/p>\n In addition,\u00a0CINTECX\u00a0and the technology center\u00a0EnergyLab\u00a0are announcing a new opportunity for the 2025 call: an industrial PhD focused on\u00a0electrochemical water splitting processes for renewable hydrogen (H\u2082) production.
