The Centre runs an annual activities programme for scientific dissemination to encourage and incentivize the coming together of science, technology and innovation, and the general public, improving scientific-technological education and culture.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>CINTECX Opens Its Doors in Vigo: Research Connecting with the City<\/h2>\n<p><strong>On 6 November, Vigo\u2019s Tinglado del Puerto will host a day packed with workshops, shows and games, offering visitors the chance to discover the scientific and technological research being carried out at the University of Vigo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- V\u00eddeo con autoplay: los navegadores solo permiten reproducir solo si est\u00e1 silenciado (mute=1) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"max-width: 720px; margin: 2rem auto;\">\n<div style=\"position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden;\"><iframe style=\"position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0;\" title=\"Jornada de Ciencia Abierta CINTECX\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Fkp1-PLEKs0?autoplay=1&amp;mute=1&amp;start=22&amp;rel=0&amp;playsinline=1\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>CINTECX is stepping out of its laboratories and into the heart of the city to engage directly with the public. The Research Centre for Technologies, Energy and Industrial Processes (CINTECX) will celebrate a new edition of its Open Day with an important new feature: bringing its activities beyond the university campus and opening them to audiences of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the day, around twenty researchers will share their work through demonstrations, workshops and hands-on experiences. Over the course of approximately two hours, they will complete challenges and experiment with some of the technologies and processes being researched at CINTECX, ranging from energy and environmental solutions to advanced manufacturing, 3D scanning and mixed reality.<\/p>\n<h4>Afternoon Session: Science for All Ages<\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/jornada-ciencia-abierta-tarde.jpg\" alt=\"Ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as experimentando en un taller de CINTECX\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From 5:00 p.m. onwards, the Tinglado will open its doors to the general public, offering a range of activities designed to inspire discovery, experimentation and wonder alongside CINTECX researchers.<\/p>\n<p>The central agora of the venue will host a science show specially designed for children, featuring experiments, humour and surprises to demonstrate why research matters.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors will also be able to enjoy games, workshops and other hands-on activities that encourage children to ask questions, experiment and explore the world around them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cintecx.uvigo.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/DIPTICO-ciencia-abierta-2026.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Check the activities and timetable.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Bringing CINTECX Research Closer to Society<\/h3>\n<p>CINTECX brings together nearly 200 researchers working in fields such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, natural resource utilisation, industrial waste valorisation, advanced manufacturing, new materials, clean propulsion technologies and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2019, the centre has organised Open Day events to showcase its research activities and inspire interest in science and technology.
