SUMMARY:Premios Beatrice Hicks CINTECX-EEI
DESCRIPTION:El Centro de Investigación en Tecnologías\, Energía y Procesos Industriales (CINTECX)\, en colaboración con la Escuela de Ingeniería Industrial (EEI) de la Universidade de Vigo\, convoca la I Edición de los Premios Beatrice Hicks CINTECX–EEI\, en el marco de la conmemoración del Día Internacional de la Mujer en la Ingeniería (23 de junio). \nEl premio consta de tres categorías: alumnado de grado y máster\, predoctoral y posdoctoral. \nEstos premios nacen inspirados en la ingeniera química estadounidense Beatrice Hicks\, primera presidenta de la Sociedad de Mujeres Ingenieras. En una época donde estudiar una carrera en el campo de la ingeniería se consideraba inapropiado para las mujeres\, Hicks ocupó variedad de posiciones de liderazgo\, convirtiéndose en la dueña de una empresa de ingeniería y desarrollando un indicador de densidad de gas utilizado en el programa espacial de EE. UU\, incluyendo misiones de aterrizaje a la luna del Programa Apolo. \nEl objeto de esta convocatoria es visibilizar el papel de la investigación y la innovación en el ámbito tecnológico-industrial\, poniendo especial énfasis en la contribución de figuras que han marcado hitos y abierto camino en este campo. \nEstos premios pretenden: \n\nFomentar la cultura científica y tecnológica.\nImpulsar la divulgación accesible de la investigación.\nReconocer la importancia de referentes como Beatrice Hicks\, pionera en la ingeniería y la innovación tecnológica.\nPromover vocaciones científicas y tecnológicas en la sociedad.\n\nLos trabajos deberán consistir en la creación de un vídeo divulgativo original de un minuto de duración que aborde: \n\nEn la categoría de alumnado de grado y máster\, explicación de un hito relevante en investigación\, propio o de una tercera persona\, que haya sido inspiradora para la persona participante.\nEn las categorías predoctoral y posdoctoral\, la investigación propia desarrollada por la persona participante en el ámbito de la ingeniería industrial y tecnológica\, contando aspectos relevantes de su trabajo\, hitos conseguidos o metodologías utilizadas.\n\nEl plazo de presentación estará abierto hasta el 10 de julio de 2026. \nLas personas interesadas podrán presentar su candidatura a través del formulario: https://forms.office.com/e/558MpNatAB \nPara más información\, consultar las BASES en: https://cintecx.uvigo.es/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Premios_Beatrice_Hicks_BASES.pdf

DESCRIPTION:CINTECX launches DCETIP 2026\, an international doctoral conference on energy and industrial technologies \n\nThe conference will take place on 21 and 22 July at the School of Industrial Engineering (EEI) and is aimed at early-career researchers and professionals from the industrial sector. \nDCETIP 2026 has been conceived as a meeting point for sharing advances\, exchanging ideas\, and strengthening connections among those conducting research in areas related to energy\, technology\, and industrial processes. The conference is intended for early-stage researchers\, PhD candidates\, recent PhD graduates\, and industrial professionals who wish to present their results or discuss emerging research directions. \nThe conference will feature internationally renowned experts whose presentations will provide an up-to-date overview of the most significant advances in the fields of energy\, advanced technologies\, and industrial processes. Confirmed speakers include Carmelo D’Agostino from Lund University; Gherhardt Ribatski from the University of São Paulo; Vítor Monteiro from the ALGORITMI Centre at the University of Minho; Sergi Garcia-Segura from Arizona State University; and Ana Leite Oliveira\, a researcher at the CBQF – Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry of the School of Biotechnology at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
