DESCRIPTION:CINTECX organize the course Practice of oral discourse in scientific forums. \nThe purpose of this course is to provide participants with the necessary tools to improve their communication skills in international scientific forums. Practical aspects related primarily to the precise techniques for making a good presentation in English at congresses\, conferences\, doctoral theses\, etc. will be addressed\, and the communication skills necessary to participate in a scientific debate will be addressed. \nThe course will be face-to-face\, and will consist of 8 training sessions of 2 hours each\, Tuesday and Thursday from 12 to 14 hours during 4 weeks (16 hours in total)\, on the following days: \n\nMay 27\nMay 29\nJune 3\nJune 5\nJune 10\nJune 12\nJune 17\nJune 19\n\nContents: \n\nHow to approach a presentation. Thinking about the audience\nManagement of media for a presentation. Efficient design of slides\, videos\, audios\, etc.\nVerbal communication techniques\nNon-verbal communication techniques: gestures\, postures\, pauses\, etc.\nThe parts of communication: introduction\, development and conclusions\nTalking about a table\, graph\, image\nThe turn for questions\nPronunciation errors\nNumbers\nStatistics\nTalking about a process\nScientific and academic communication styles in English\n\nTo access the course\, you will need to have English accreditation (at least level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) obtained in the last two years.
