SUMMARY:Presentation of the Isidro Parga Pondal Medal to researcher Leandro Rafael Alejano Monge
DESCRIPTION:CINTECX researcher and University of Vigo Professor Leandro Alejano Monge will receive the Isidro Parga Pondal Medal for Technical Sciences from the Royal Galician Academy of Sciences (RAGC)\, at an event held to mark the Day of Science in Galicia. \nThe award ceremony will take place on 8 October 2026 at 12:00 noon\, at the Salón Noble of the Colegio de Fonseca\, in Santiago de Compostela. The event will also pay tribute to the 2026 Galician Scientist of the Year\, Aida Fernández Ríos\, and the remaining RAGC Research Medals will be presented. \nThe RAGC is recognising Leandro Alejano’s career in the field of mining engineering and rock mechanics\, as well as his contributions to safety in mining and civil engineering and to the efficiency and sustainability of the extractive industry.
