Breve CV

Licenciada en Ciencias Químicas (Especialidade Metalurxia) pola Universidade Complutense de Madrid en 1988 e Doutora en Ciencia Químicas pola mesma universidade en 1996. Impartiu docencia universitaria desde 1995, e desde 2001 é Profesor Titular na Universidade de Vigo. Os últimos anos da súa actividade investigadora centráronse na área da modificación superficial de aliaxes estruturais, sobre todo aceiros inoxidables e aliaxes de aluminio, para a mellora de propiedades de resistencia á corrosión e tribológicas. Experta na caracterización química e estrutural das devanditas aliaxes e das súas capas pasivas a través de técnicas como: SEM/EDS, XPS, Tof-SIMS e GAXRD. É coautora de máis de 110 publicacións (artigos, traballos en congresos, capítulos, libros, documentos científico-técnico restrinxidos). Participou en 19 proxectos de investigación de carácter nacional e autonómico, así como nun de carácter Europeo (DURATINET- EU/AA2008-1/049), sendo a Investigadora Principal (IP) en tres de carácter nacional. Realizou varias estancias de investigación no estranxeiro, sendo a máis importante a que realizo tras recibir unha bolsa da Comisión Europea (Marie Curie), no “Instituto de Materiais Avanzados”, Joint Research Centre, ISPRA-Site (taly) para realizar a súa Tese Doutoral (1991-1995). Colaborou en a organizado de diversos seminarios/congresos/xornadas e reunións científicas, ao longo dos últimos anos. Dirixiu unha 1 Tese Doutoral (premio extraordinario fin de carreira curso 2012-13) e máis de 15 Proxectos Fin de Carreira, Traballos Fin de Grao e DEAs. Subdirectora Xefe de Estudos da Escola de Enxeñaría de Minas e Enerxía da Universidade de Vigo, desde o 1 de febreiro de 2001 ao 31 de outubro de 2003. Directora do Departamento de Enxeñaría dos Materiais, Mecánica Aplicada e Construción da Universidade de Vigo durante dous mandatos consecutivos (do 22/09/2009 ata o 30/10/2012, e desde o 31/10/2012 ata o 02/12/2015). É censora de distintas revistas internacionais, entre as que cabe destacar: Electrochimica Acta, Surface and Coatings Technology and Surface and Interface Analysis.
